ProactivePack is a web-based application that provides administrators and users of BMC TrueSight and BMC Helix Operations Management (BHOM) with powerful tools that will help them in their daily tasks.

Various modules co-exist in the ProactivePack platform. While the modules share a common infrastructure and configuration, they remain fairly independent and can be configured and secured separately.

The modules are:

-       Quick Queries: Quick Queries is a simple query tool to easily report on events. Several quick queries are provided, to report on volumes of events, distribution of values, duration averages, etc. Quick Queries can be indifferently be used with a cell (thus querying the cell event database) or with an external database. In the latter case, an import mechanism is provided to store events in the database.

-       Calendar: Web-Based management of cell TIME_FRAME objects.

-       HelixCalendar: Web-Based management of calendars, to use with the Helix Blackout Management Module

-       Data Editor: This module provides the ability to query and edit cell “DDA” and “DDEN” from within a web interface. Using Data Editor, it is no longer needed to grant user’s full access to the TrueSight Admin Console (or BMC Impact Explorer) to allow them to change DDA contents. Data Editor also provides powerful input validation, drop-down list for field choices, as well as excel import/export capabilities.

-       Helix Data Editor: View and manage dynamic enrichment data used by Advanced Enrichment Polices in BMC Helix Operations Management.

-       Blackout Management: This module provides a simple interface to define and manage event blackouts. It has a granular permission model that ensures level-1 operators can safely define blackouts.

-       Helix Blackout Management: Manage BHOM Blackout policies easily.

-       DDA Replication: This module allows the distribution of DDA from one cell to other cells. DDA Replication tasks are simply defined and the distribution itself performs multiple validation checks, provides extensive logging, and allows backup of data before distribution.

-       ModelManager: Visualize components and relationships – in Atrium CMDB and in the cell so you can confirm they are all correctly synched up. Perform integrity checks on the service model.

-       TestManager: Define and run test scenarios to validate event management works according to expectations/specifications

-       Self-Service Monitoring Portal: This module provides self-service reporting and configuration capabilities for TrueSight. Using this module, non-expert users can configure monitoring, and generate monitoring configuration reports that are tailored to their needs.
